Title of the EU Project: WebTvs for European Culture — a European platform for culture and video
ShareCulture TV (project title “WebTvs for European Culture”) was a European cooperation project coordinated by Perypezye Urbane under the EU Culture Programme 2007–2013. It created www.shareculture.eu, an interactive web-television platform bringing together cultural organisations from across Europe to produce and share video on culture, artistic expression and intercultural dialogue.

The platform was organised around four thematic channels — Citizen Journalism, Encounters, Policy in Action and Visions — and run by an international editorial team representing the partner countries (Italy, Spain, Albania, Malta). Over two years, partners and the artists they involved produced around 100 videos, several conceived as recurring formats such as Guess who’s coming to dinner (food and intercultural dialogue), Art_Coefficient (the encounter between viewers and contemporary artworks across Europe) and Next Generation (youth and the performing arts).
Online production was paired with five international workshops on video production and citizen journalism — two in Malta, two in Milan and one in Tirana — and two video contests, building skills among artists and cultural workers and nurturing a community of practice across the Euro-Mediterranean area. By May 2014 the platform was reaching more than 20,000 unique visitors a month.
