Selfless explores a specific approach to live improvisation, aiming at a contradictory physicality that emerges in a condition freed from the premeditated intention of the gesture. It stages the existential crisis of a performing body, driven by a pathos of incessant change and by that anxiety which, as described by Kierkegaard, is “the dizziness of freedom.” Following the path traced by the work in progress Selfless – study, it takes on a further chapter, in which the evolution of this body — suspended in the limbo of the infinitely possible — develops toward a multiplicity of states and a transpersonal catharsis.
