Giuseppe Esposito and Giovanni Sabelli Fioretti, co-founders and artistic directors of Perypezye Urbane since 2005, are prominent figures in the field of contemporary dance and digital arts. Their complementary paths combine choreographic research, dramaturgy, technological innovation, and cultural project design. Together, they share a vision that explores the relationship between the body, digital media, and new performative scenarios, developing projects that range from choreographic creation to the experimental use of emerging technologies. Their work stands out for its international scope, multidisciplinary nature, and pioneering approach to the intersection between dance and digital cultures.

Esposito and Sabelli Fioretti’s interest in the relationship between dance and digital media dates back to 2005–2010, a period in which they began experimenting with videodance and the use of video on stage. Among the notable projects from this period are Cold featuring Marta Ciappina (2010), Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child (2010), and Og – Web I? (2009), works that explored the absence of the physical body and its virtual presence through live Skype connections. Alongside these stage works, they produced numerous videodance pieces, available on the company’s Vimeo and YouTube channels.

In 2010 they developed DanceMe, an innovative mobile app dedicated to choreographic creation and digital archiving processes.

In 2024 they returned to choreography and creative production with Mother, created in collaboration with 2024 UBU Award–winning choreographer Sara Sguotti and supported by the Italian programme SIAE – Per Chi Crea and the European initiative S+T+Arts.EU.

Together, Esposito and Sabelli Fioretti continue to redefine the boundaries of contemporary dance through their innovative integration of digital languages and new media, shaping a distinctive artistic identity that bridges physicality, technology, and conceptual research.
