“Kaukokaipuu – Rifrazioni dell’altrove” is a solo performance of dance and voice in collaboration with sound designer Jacopo Cerolini.
The Finnish term “Kaukokaipuu” refers to a longing for places never visited, a sense of belonging to unknown spaces that dissolves time and space, opening to deep connections between inner and outer landscapes.
The project is rooted in the concept of becoming landscape: becoming an element among elements in an ecosystemic context that preserves human traces, memories, and emotional geographies, while renouncing an anthropocentric perspective. In dialogue with Gregory Bateson’s theories on the Ecology of Mind, the work traverses the ecological and sensorial dimension of being part of a whole.
On stage, body, voice, and sound intertwine to generate a participatory and expanded experience, where presence becomes the resonance of a non-directed desire: nostalgia for distant and unexplored places, real or interior, that return a sense of connection to the here and now.
